Rosanna Czarnecki

Growing up on a farm in Indiana and living in the lush environment of South Louisiana have influenced Rosanna’s paintings.  Her interest in silk dye painting methods include shibori, roketsuzome, gutta serti and watercolor.  No matter which method she uses the result of watching colors mix and flow on the luminous silk fibers as they receive dye is rewarding. “Applying color on a surface is intoxicating.  I like the way line and color dance together as a painting takes shape.   My compositions are stimulating yet relaxing; simplicity is better than complexity.”  When beauty comes, it speaks for itself.

Rosanna’s paintings have received many international awards and her work has been published.  Slides of her paintings are included in the Smithsonian’s Renwick Gallery’s archives.  Her paintings have exhibited at the National Academy of Sciences, the National Arboretum and the Smithsonian Institute’s National Museum of Natural History.
