Students complete a work of art while learning all the secrets the instructor has collected over 30 years of silk painting. Beginners and intermediates welcome. Professionals will have fun too. Techniques explored will include drawing on tracing paper, drawing on silk with fast fade marker, direct application, frotti, salt application, decorative gutta, alcohol and dyes with alcohol, dry brush, touch of acrylic, dyes over transparent gutta, Spraying with cache.

 

As an introduction, a video showing the different steps to realize an artwork on silk.

In two days, we will complete, first, an 8 inches diameter silk artwork and secondly, a 12 x 12 artwork silk painting.  Your subject, my approach.  First the drawing;  secondly, working the composition on the silk and finally application of the black gutta, the dyes with brushes to achieve the artwork.
