Course Description:

Silk collage and surface design techniques.  Use your photo transfers (from the 1 day class, "Playing with Image") and learn other useful techniques to transform silk using your own unique marks. In this class we will learn how to make marks using a wide variety of surface design techniques and how to combine these in creating silk collages. These techniques will be allow the silk painter to create multi-dimensional, layered images by using; photo transfers (if they have taken the 1 day class), stamping, printmaking and layering techniques.   Participants do not need to take "Playing with Image" but it will just allow them to have more to work with during the workshop. All participants will need to bring their own silk paintings/ images to work with in their collages.  This class will combine demonstration, hands on work, and guided imagery. Participants will create their own collage canvases by the end of the class.
