Balloon Exhibition and Fundraiser
In conjunction with the 2008 SPIN Festival taking place in Santa Fe
Silk Banners
at the
in Albuquerque
An exhibit of about 25 panels of painted silk will adorn the
museum from the beginning of August (during the 2008 SPIN Festival in Santa Fe),
and continue through the second weekend of October - ending with the 2008
International Balloon Fiesta. During the 2007 Festival over 900,000 people
attended this event, and the Balloon Museum is a prime destination spot during the Fiesta. The
Balloon Museum is close to the Albuquerque Sunport Airport. The Balloon Museum is actually on the north side of Albuquerque on the way to Santa Fe.
The exhibit will be a joint Fundraiser for SPIN and the
Balloon Museum. The silk artists from SPIN will
fill the panels with their their "flights" of fancy. These beautiful panels will be exhibited for almost three months then will be auctioned off by
means of a silent auction to Balloon Fiesta attendees. The proceeds will benefit
both SPIN and the Balloon Museum.
